Holding thread and using starter piece of fabric may help alleviate "bird nest" on bottom side of fabric.

I still use an old treadle. To help keep the rest of the shirt out of the way, I use a toilet paper roll. I cover them with anything and slit the roll lengthwise. Then roll shirt and put it on the roll where the slit is. I love you girls. Y'all even help and answer things I wanted to know and things I didn't know I wanted to know. Thanks do muvh girls.
