Project 6

Moving right along with the Oh Sew Fun Sewing Challenge, we’re now on to project #6! This week we’re going with a tried and true sewing project, but with a fun and creative twist: decorative pillows!

Decorative throw pillows are a great addition to almost any room. Whether you’re adding them to a bed, chair, or sofa, they can add a fun pop of color and personality to a space. However, as we all know, store-bought throw pillows can be a bit pricey especially if you want one with a designer look. Instead, why not learn how to make and customize your own designer-influenced decorative pillows?

The circles for this pillow were cut out using an Olfa circle rotary cutter. This tool is amazingly handy and can be found at most craft and fabric stores. However, you do not have to have it in order to complete this project. You can decide what size of circle you want to use, trace the circles onto the fabric, and then cut them out. The larger the circle you choose the less you need to cut out. Changing up the size of the circle as well as the size of the pillow are both great ways to customize this project.

As always, once you’ve finished your pillow(s) for this week, make sure to share a photo with us in the Facebook group! I love seeing all your wonderful projects each week!
