Quick Tips: Testing Fabric Markers

National Sewing Circle Editors
Duration:   1 mins

Description

When transferring marks to a garment or hand embroidery project, it’s best to test your chosen marking tool on the fabric before beginning the project. Whether your marker or pencil is water soluble, air soluble or heat removable, test it on a small square of the fabric, on a seam allowance, or other hidden spot on the fabric. If the mark doesn’t fully disappear from the fabric, it’s best to know beforehand, so you can make adjustments or choose a different style of fabric marker.
