Sewing Tips: Easy Edge Finishing
National Sewing Circle EditorsDescription
If you’re like most people with lots of sewing projects to finish, you want the best way to do things, but also the quickest and easiest way too. Tara Rex shares a few sewing tips on how she saves some time finishing edges on a quick pillow project. Tara shows how she finished the edges of a fabric first before she even cuts what she needs for the pillow back. This way, after you finish your pillow front you can simply cut the fabric in half, overlap the finished edges and stitch your pillow together. You can use the fabric at the finished width, or trim it down for use on something smaller.
I wanted to share a time-saving trick for you with you rather, it's to finish the edges. A lot of times people will cut a bunch of Pieces of fabric finish the edges, and then put everything together. For this obviously they're two separate fabric. So I did have to do that for, for this project. However, when you're going to be using one fabric on say the back of a pillow case, you can Use, just cut out your fabric, the size that You want.
I iron my, my sides, my seams and then I go and I sew them. So, so both sides are sewn already. And then I can just go and make my, my cut line it up with my, my pillow case or whatever my project is and go from there. So it's nice and easy and quick.
